The First Step
We can generate and send you first-step signable court documents.
To custom-generate your documents, we need some basic information. To give us this information, simply select one of our start plans (below).
When you have completed a start plan, we will send the documents to you (your choice) by:
- E-mailed PDF attachments (in as little as a few hours) OR
- U.S. mail (usually within 3 mail days)
To begin the court process, you then sign and return the documents to us by mail with:
- Our applicable fee (standard or low-income filing) AND
- Court filing fee (if standard filing)
If you never return the signed documents, you owe us nothing.

Plan A: Enter some basic information here.
- No payment is required for your first-step documents.
- Before beginning, assemble the following information:
- Exact date of your marriage
- Location of your marriage (city and state, or city and country)
- Approximate date you separated (if applicable)
- Children's full names and exact dates of birth
- Enter questionnaire.
Plan B: Print a returnable intake form (one page).
- No payment is required for the form.
- Download and print form.
- Fill out the form and mail it back to us.
- Enclose with the form a $45 deposit (applied to the total fee).
Plan C: Order a returnable intake form to be mailed to you.
- No payment is required for the form.
- Enter name and mailing address.
- We will mail the form to you (with printed materials).
- Fill out the form and mail it back to us.
- Enclose with the form a $45 deposit (applied to the total fee).
